Ryan and I woke up in our silent Guesthouse Drangshlíð excited to start the next day of adventures. After having our quick and filling Icelandic breakfast (hello cheese), we rushed out the door to our first stop, Reynisfjara – to admire the incredible black sand beach in the small village of Vik. On a normal day, you can’t get better than a Perth beach, but the stunning volcanic sand really was one-of-a-kind.
Yosemite is one of the prettiest (and coldest) places I’ve ever been. We arrived just after sunset after a scary/tiring/hilarious drive up from San Francisco. I didn’t have much of an itinerary planned for Yosemite… I just wanted to see a deer (check), go ice skating (check) and see a few of the sites (check). We thought that we would just hop onto a tour bus for a drive around the park so Ryan could see everything and really enjoy it without worrying about driving on the right hand side of the road the whole time. I would love to return to Yosemite when it’s a bit warmer and go on some long walks around the park.
