If I’ve spoken to you in the last month you’ll know that I’ve hired a cleaner, which has actually been one of the best things I’ve ever done. Every second Friday while I’m at work, Christina comes to the house and makes it sparkle… there is nothing like coming home to a spotless house and realising Saturday morning that I don’t have to scrub the stove is incredible.
Now that we have an extra few hours on the weekend, we are taking the opportunity to explore Perth and all the new and exciting things it has to offer.
Looking back on April, I can’t help but think what a wonderful time I had. I spent the Easter long weekend camping down in Denmark with some friends, I learned that I should always have a cup of tea and just watch Ryan put up the tent, I scored some (at least five) 99c Lindt chocolate bunnies, visited my favourite Fremantle cafe Ootong and Lincoln, harvested loads of capsicum from my garden and admired all the street art around the city for Public 2015. I’ll take more of these sorts of months, please.

Each month, Ryan and I are lucky enough to have a day off work together. We try and make these days off as relaxing as possible; no chores, no work and no errands. Last Monday, we said goodbye to Summer with a trip to Fremantle for some smoothies at The Raw Kitchen, a ‘peruse’ around Compendium Store (walking away with three beautiful city guides), lunch at my new favourite spot The Shipping Lane (where I ate the best crispy potato and halloumi stack in the world) and a trip to Cottesloe beach to admire the Sculptures by the Sea exhibit and take a dip in the ocean.
