My favourite time of year has come and gone.
A few weekends ago I wandered around Northbridge, Leederville and Fremantle enjoying the new artwork being created for Form’s PUBLIC2015 event, where artists from around the world come to Western Australia to leave their mark. It’s so nice to see some of Perth’s unattractive buildings and laneways be uplifted with artwork.
I love how Brett Chan’s pink mural brightens my day every time I look at it, Amok Island’s ‘Praying Mantis’ makes me feel teeny tiny and Andrew Hem’s makes me want to jump inside the art and hang with the deer.
I really hope that Public continues in 2016. It would be great to see a few artist paint in suburbs a little further out or left of field (ahem, maybe my neck of the woods). Read more about the Public2015 event here, and check out some of the artwork from 2014 here.

Robert Jenkins in Leederville. I love the movement in this piece.
