The other week, my step-sister put a picture up on Instagram of a batch of homemade hot cross buns saying, “…get so frustrated by all the preservatives in the store bought ones.” Right at that point I was devouring a Baker’s Delight choc cross bun and I started to feel a bit guilty, so I decided that I would give making my own a go.
Making them was surprisingly satisfying (watching dough rise is voodoo magic) PLUS I received so many kind compliments from my co-workers:
“These are seriously by far the nicest hot cross buns I’ve ever had.”
“Jess they were THE most delicious buns ever! Yum!”
“They are way more delicious than the Woolies ones.”
